“Confessions of An Alleged Good Girl” by Joya Goffney

With it being the season of giving, I thought I should gift you all my first 5-star read I had we I re-began my reading journey! This is a book about a girl rediscovering who she is and finding her real identity with help from some new friends she meets along the way.

It’s a feel-good story that will bring you to tears!

Elegant row houses line a tree-shaded street in Washington DC during autumn.

“Monday’s Not Coming” by Tiffany D. Jackson

This was one of the first books that I read when I got back into reading. This is definitely a heavy read, but I also read it around the holiday season a few years back, and I still think about it around this time every year.

This is not a holiday season book but it is a book that will make you really call the people you love and check on them more often.

A beautiful historic house facade with lush tree and classic architecture features.

“The Dead Romantics” by Ashley Poston

This is a 5- star read that I will recommend to ANYONE, reader or non-reader. I was actually fortunate to meet the author when she realized her book “The Seven Year Slip” a few years ago in my hometown. She is also an alum of UofSC, where she majored in English.

This book is a page turner that you won’t be able to put down until you get to the end! It’s a feel- good story with an unexpected story and outcome.

Recs of the Week!

The recommendations I have given above are just a few of my favorites that got me back into reading. Sharing those with you all was my way of giving back to the book community for all the recommendations that it’s given to me this holiday season, despite them not being holiday themed books!

I hope you have enjoyed my website and you will check out my recommendations or put this on your holiday gift wish list this year. Thank you for joining me!
